About Bardia National Park

Bardia National Park is one of the most beautiful and largest wildlife reserves in the far northwest of Nepal, which encompasses an area of approximately 968 sq. km. Located on the low land of Terai, the National Park is the transition between the Indian plains and the outer Himalayan foothills. The habitat in the National Park ranges from lush forests to grasslands, forests and river banks, giving a wide variety of faunas found in different vegetations.

The National Park, once a hunting reserve, is now a wildlife reserve. It is an untouched wildlife habitat which holds a pride of treasuring  largest population of Bengal tigers in Nepal. It is also home to some endangered species of animals likes Rhinoceros, Gharial crocodile, Tiger, Wild elephant, Swamp deer, Gangetic dolphin, Bengal florican, Sarus crane, etc. Apart from wildlife, it is a home to over 350 species of beautiful birds.

Day 01 - Fly to Nepalgunj

We initiate our journey to Bardia National Park with a flight to Nepalgunj, one of the hottest places in Nepal. On arrival, a hotel representative will receive and escort you to a hotel. After resting for a while, your guide will tour you to the Tharu villages nearby letting you experience about the unique culture, tradition and lifestyle of the Tharu peoples. We end the day with delightful dinner.

Day 02 - Explore Bardia National park

After breakfast, we will head towards the Bardia National Park for an exciting ride over an elephant. As the elephant heads in between the forest, you can encounter the wildlife sheltered inside the park. Get ready to get a glimpse of one- horned rhino, Asian elephant, Spotted Deer (Chital), Barking Deer, Hog Deer, Swamp Deer, Black Buck, Bull, Wild Boar, Royal Bengal Tiger, Wild Dog, Leopard, Striped Hyena, Golden Jackal and many more wild animals. After completing the elephant ride, we will head towards the visitor centre in the National park followed by visit to crocodile breeding centre and a museum that treasures Tharu culture. We take a break for lunch at the part around 1:30 PM and then take a smooth walk around the jungle. We visit the tower in middle of the jungle to take a view of wildlife and birds. After the tour, you will be treating with beautiful Tharu Cultural Dance followed by dinner.

Sightseeing Points – Pasupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swyambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple) and Kathmandu Durbar Square.

Day 03 - Visit Karnali River for Dolphin sightseeing

Today we head towards the Karnali River around 7:00 PM. The lovely bank of Karnali with the golden sun in the background is a fantastic view to experience. If you are fortunate, on the Karnali River you can see the dolphins. After lunch. We say farewell to Bardia National Park, and take a ride to Nepalgunj airport, treasuring the memories of nature and wildlife. We take a flight to Kathmandu.
