You will explore Namche Bazaar, the famous Himalayan town, also recognized as the “Everest Gateway.” Likewise, you’ll also tour Kalapatthar’s view point – the country’s finest view point. It offers panoramic views of the whole massif of Mount Everest. The Tengboche village, Khumbu’s spiritual center, is another significant landmark of the trek. Places like the village of Dingboche and Phakding offer great overnight stops as well.

Is the EBC Trek Difficult?

A moderate trekking trip is the Everest Base Camp Trek. The trek includes traveling continuously from one point to the next. The duration of the trip differs from day to day. The trip, however, is achievable with prior trekking arrangements. You need about two to three weeks before the start of the adventure to brace yourself for the trip.

DAY 01: ARRIVE KATHMANDU, NEPAL

You will be welcomed by one of the officials of our company upon your arrival. He’ll assist your transfer to your Kathmandu lodging. Today there are no scheduled events, so you can rest and get your bearings at the hotel. Further plans and programs about the journey will also be briefed to you by the official.


Day 02 - Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour and Preparation for the trek

Today you’re going to have a lovely Kathmandu Valley sightseeing trip. The trip involves a visit of the city’s four main UNESCO World Heritage Sites. You’ll tour Pashupatinath’s ancient Hindu temple, Swayambhunath Stupa, Bouddhanath Stupa, and Durbar Square in Kathmandu. You’ll be transferred to your hotel after the trip. Stay overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.

From Pokhara, we will drive through the big village of Lumle to Nayapul (42 km) by car / taxi and hike to Birethanti, a large and prosperous town for about 20 minutes. The route follows Birethanti’s main road, passing through forests of bamboo and past a big waterfall and swimming hole. The route enters Ramghai, beyond a pasture used by pony caravans, where you will have lunch. The path gradually rises up the side of the valley after lunch, approaching Tikhe Dhunga. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included at the guesthouse.

Day 03 - Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding (2652m/8699ft) Walking Distance - 8 km, Duration: 3 hours

You’re going to fly to Lukla today. For an early flight to Lukla, you will be taken to the airport. The short flight offers excellent mountain peak views. At the brink of Khumbu’s Dudh Koshi River Valley, you will find your journey from Lukla to Phakding, a lovely village. Along the way, you can glimpse the Kusum Kanguru Peak exceptionally beautiful. Overnight stay at the guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 04 - Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m/11283) Walking Distance - 10 to 12 km, Duration: 6 hours

You will cross the road from Phakding that will bring you to Monjo, where the gateway to the Sagarmatha National Park is located. From here, the area is surrounded by dense pine and rhododendron woodland. Following the path, you will walk along the route, like Tok Tok and Jorsale, through small villages. Cross a suspension bridge across the Dudh Koshi River and walk uphill to Namche Bazaar, the famous Himalayan town. Overnight stay at the guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 05 - Acclimatization Day – Hike to Everest View Hotel (3,962m/12995ft) Walking Distance - 3 to 4 km, Duration: 3 to 4 hours

This day is for acclimatization. Namche Bazaar has a lot to do ; it’s Khumbu’s commercial centre. From Namche, you can enjoy incredible views of the Everest pinnacle, as well as many of its nearby Himalayan peaks, including the Thamserku, Kongdi RI, and Ama Dablam. Here you can tour the Sherpa Culture Museum and the Everest Photo Gallery. You can also walk up to the Syangboche Airstrip above the town. You can capture nice views of Namche below from Syangboche as well as the Himalayan peaks surrounding the town in the range. You can also visit the Everest View Hotel, which offers views from all its windows of the Everest mountains.

 Overnight stay at the guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 06 - Namche to Tengboche (3860m/12660ft) Walking Distance - 10 to 11 km, Duration: 5 hours

You will then have a leisurely hike uphill from Namche Bazaar through the woods to the destination of today — the Tengboche village. You will hike through the Imja Khola to Tengboche, the region’s spiritual center, through rhododendron-laden hamlets and emerald meadows. Along the way, peak views like the Ama Dablam and the Everest Himal will cheer you up. You can also tour the renowned monastery of Tengboche in the village. Overnight stay at the guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 07 - Tengboche to Dingboche (4410m/14464ft) Walking Distance - 11 to 12 km, Duration: 5 hours

Hike over Imja Khola from Tengboche, passing several suspension bridges to Dingboche. You’re going to go along the way through many smaller villages, like Pangboche and Orsho. The trip is filled with  Mani stone walls sculpted with prayers and colourful prayer flags softly swinging in the Himalayan wind. Once you reach Dingboche, the region’s famous “summer valley,” you can relax and enjoy the fascinating views of the Everest mountains towering over the village quite dramatically. Day 08 - Acclimatization Day- Hike to Nagarjun hill and return: Walking Distance - 5 to 6 km, Duration: 4 to 5 hours

This is another acclimatization day. You’re going to have a walk up the Nagerjun Hill near Dingboche today. The walk uphill is rather strenuous, but due to the panoramic scenery of the vast Imja valley from the top, the effort is worth the trip. Likewise, from there you can also enjoy magnificent views of the Everest peaks, including the Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Everest. You’re going to walk back down after spending some moment at the top.

Day 09 - Dingboche to Lobuche (4910m/16105ft) Walking Distance - 11 to 12 km, Duration: 5 hours

From Dingboche, today you’ll walk to Lobuche’s small village. The journey brings you grasslands and you will also begin to realize that the landscape is changing along the way from dense forest to sparsely marked shrubs with snowy acreages. Lobuche is a tiny village overlooked by the peaks of the Lobuche. You can also get nice views of mountains such as the Lingtern, the Pumori and the Himalayan peak of Khumbutse along the trip. Day 10 - Lobuche to Gorakshep (5180m/16990ft) - Everest Base Camp (5364m/17594ft) and back to Gorakshep, Walking Distance - 14 to 15 km, Duration- 8 hours

Today is one of the trekking trip’s most awaited days. From Lobuche, before you reach the Everest Base Camp, you will find your journey to Gorekshep- one of the last villages. Gorekshep is a very sparsely inhabited small village used as the base camp area before the site was relocated to its now-original site. You will eventually hike from Gorekshep to the base camp towards the Khumbu glacier moraine. You can see the glacier as well as the Khumbu Ice Fall when you reach the base camp. This is the starting point of the Everest expedition. You will return to Gorekshep after having some moment at Everest’s base camp. Overnight stay at the guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 11 - Gorakshep - Kala Patthar (5545m/11283ft) then trek back to Pheriche (4210m/13810ft) Walking Distance - 13 to 14 km, Duration - 7 hours

Early the morning starts the trek from Gorekshep to Kalapatthar. Kalapatthar is one of the region’s finest viewpoints. It offers panoramic views of the whole Mount Everest massif. You can capture the sunrise view from here in the midst of the Everest mountains. The phenomena is very surreal. You will have a trek back down to Pheriche village after taking in the breathtaking views of the Everest peaks, following the same trail you used for your ascend. Overnight stay at the guesthouse. Day 12 - Pheriche to Namche (3440m/11283) Walking Distance - 14 to 15 km, Duration- 7 hours

From Pheriche the trail back to Namche will progress rapidly. You will follow the river Imja to Tengboche, from where the route starts in the direction of Phungki Thanka. You will finally reach Namche after passing the Kyangjuma. The descent is simpler than the climb and you can hike through the woods and enjoy the views of the mountains along the way. Day 13 - Namche to Lukla (2800m/9184ft) Walking Distance - 18 to 19 km, Duration - 7 hours

From Namche, the trail back to Lukla continues the same route as before. It is adorned with prayer flags, chortens, Mani walls and Gompas. The Dudh Koshi River’s gushing will rush through the air once again as you cross over suspension bridges. You will reach Lukla for the night after gradually climbing from Cheplung. Day 14 - Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu

Today, you’ll have a flight back to Kathmandu from Lukla, bidding farewell to the Everest mountains. As before, the flight offers excellent views of the mountains one last time before you arrive in the crowded city. You will be transferred to your hotel when you reach Kathmandu.Overnight stay at the Hotel. Breakfast included.  

Day 15 - Reserve day in Kathmandu

For any delays in the Lukla plane, this day is designated. Today, as you please, you can spend the day in the city, shopping or visiting the many famous restaurants and other places. Overnights stay at the Hotel.  Breakfast included.

Day 16 - Farewell/Departure

You will be transported to the airport three hours before your scheduled flight by one of the officials from our company, from where you will leave with lovely travel experiences. Including breakfast.
