Jomsom Muktinath Trek is a classic tour that brings you through appealing Annapurna areas such as Poon Hill, Kagbeni, Muktinath, Kaligandaki Gorge and Jomsom. You start your voyage from Nayapul, passing in between diverse ethnic settlement villages. You proceed to walk under the shade of rhododendron and fir woods, loving at its finest the views of Annapurna. Poon Hill, a region viewpoint provides the magnificent panoramic views of Annapurna! From this stage of view, the sunrise view contributes to the hills ‘ charm and holds you in amazement. As you abandon the hill of Poon, you pursue your route to Kagbeni through the dry and rough land. A stroll along the world’s deepest gorge – Kaligandaki  offers you amazing panoramic views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himal.

The next highlight of the trip is the temple of Muktinath! It is a famous religious place for pilgrims from Hindu and Buddhism. Muktinath is, according to Buddhist mythology, a location where Guru Ripoche meditated on his journey to Tibet. In this location, a Gompa is constructed to enhance its spirituality. Likewise, Muktinath is Lord Vishnu’s famous temple. The temple’s eternal flame is a big attraction. Another attraction is the temple courtyard consisting of 108 spouts bull faced pouring out cold water. It is believed that a shower in that cold water purifies your heart and soul!

Jomsom is a famous Gurung people village renowned for its beautiful landscapes and hostile people. Receive a warm welcome from the people of Gurung as you take your way through Muktinath to Jomsom after a long and tiring trip! DAY 01: ARRIVE KATHMANDU, NEPAL

You will be welcomed by one of the officials of our company upon your arrival. He’ll assist your transfer to your Kathmandu lodging. Today there are no scheduled events, so you can rest and get your bearings at the hotel. Further plans and programs about the journey will also be briefed to you by the official.


Day 02 - Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour

You would be undergoing a sightseeing tour of World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu valley, which includes excursing Kathmandu Durbar Square, the holy Swayambhunath Temple, Bouddhanath Stupa and the Pashupatinath Temple. Overnight at hotel, breakfast included.

Day 03 - Drive to Pokhara (910 m) by tourist bus, 6 hrs

We will begin on the 6-7-hour scenic journey to Pokhara, the second largest city of Nepal. The drive is a wonderful opportunity for you to see the beautiful landscape of terraced farmlands, luscious green rice and barley fields, the frisky rush of the meandering rivers by all along the highway and the isolated valleys low-lying among the gargantuan hills and rocky gorges. Upon arrival at the beautiful lake city of Pokhara, we will drive you to your hotel. Pokhara is known to be the Amsterdam of Nepal because this suburban city lit all through the season.

Day 04 - Drive to Nayapul (1,010m) Duration 1 hour and Trek to Tikhedhunga (1,570m) Duration 4 hrs

After an hour ride on a private car from Pokhara, we start our hike at Nayapul. After a short 15-minute walk along the banks of the Modi Khola, we reach a large village with many shops and tea houses in Birethanti (1,015 m). The path proceeds through the village from there and crosses the Bhurungdi Khola’s northern bank. The trail climbs steadily up to Hille at 1,495 m on the side of the valley and we reach Tikhedhunga at 1,570 m after a brief ascent. Today’s trek is comparatively short and simple, a prelude to the Annapurna region’s trekking adventure. Guesthouse overnight, including breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 05 - Trek to Ghorepani (2850m) Duration: 7 hrs

The road passes a stream from Tikhe Dhunga on a suspended bridge close the Tikhe Dhunga camp site. The trail ascends to the large Magar village of Ulleri at 2080 m a high stone staircase (which has about 3300 steps). The path rises softly across pastures and cultivated areas above the village. There is a rest and water campsite over Ulleri after an hour's hike. The route runs through two glittering streams before climbing to Nangethanti for a short final climb where we halt for lunch. Thanti is a Nepali term that means "place of rest." The path can be filled with snow during the winter. We will climb from Nangethanti to Ghorepani at 2850 m, from here we can see the spectacular panorama of Dhaulagiri I (8167 m), Tukuche Nilgiri (6940 m), Annapurna I (8091 m), Hiunchuli (6441 m) and Tarke Kang (7193 m). Breakfast, lunch and dinner included at the guesthouse.

Day 06 - Hike up to Poon Hill (3,210m/10529ft) and onto Tadapani (1200m) Duration: 7 hrs

We are going to get up soon this morning and trek to Poon Hill. From here you’ll see a beautiful sunrise view and a panoramic Himalayan scenery including Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Fishtail, and others. We will return to Ghorepani after touring Poonhill, have a warm breakfast, and proceed to walk to Tadapani. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included at the guesthouse.

Day 07 - Trek to Ghasa (2120m) Duration: 7 hrs

The walk now begins the Kali Gandaki Valley, which is said to be the world’s deepest gorge. Here we will appreciate a beautiful day of hiking along the Kali Gandaki River, gradually rising into subtropical vegetation. Before arriving at Dana (1450 m), we will pass the Bhalu Khola on a high suspension bridge. About 30 minutes from Dana we will see a very high waterfall: Rupse Chhahara (which means as “beautiful waterfall”). From there we will proceed through the steepest and narrowest portion of the valley of Kali Gandaki, where much of the path is cut through hard rock. On a 120 m lengthy path to the east side, we will traverse the river again. We will proceed to Ghasa, an indigenous village of Thakali and this constitutes the valley’s southernmost limit of Tibetan Buddhism. Guesthouse overnight, including breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 08 - Trek to Tukuche (2560m) Duration: 5 hrs

The route crosses the river Kali Gandaki, crossing a narrow gorge before approaching traditional Thakali villages. Today, through lengthy suspension bridges, we will traverse the gorge and river numerous times, making excellent photo opportunities. We’re going to cross a few villages (for example, Lete, Kalopani and Kokhethati). On the manner we can see the mountain top of Dhaulagiri peering across the west side. We’re going to end our day in Tukuche village. Guesthouse overnight, including breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 09 - Trek to Kagbeni (2800m) Duration: 5 hrs

An simple and beautiful day’s walk where we will first see Khobang village, which has tight alleyways and passages linking houses. We can create a brief travel journey to the Buddhist temple of Kanti Gompa. Marpha hosts countless apple orchids and all the various fruit products. Apple Brandy is a local item that you might be lucky enough to enjoy along the way. Here we can see a wine brandy distillery and wander down the road of the orange orchard. We’re going to proceed our journey for another 2 hours before achieving the final destination of our day at Jomsom. Here we’re going to have lunch and then walk along the Kaligandaki River across Eklai Bhatti. Overnight at guesthouse, including breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 10 - Trek to Muktinath (3800m) Duration: 4 hrs

Today we’re going to do the 1000-meter ascent to Muktinath, an important Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage site. We will walk through Khingar (3400 m) first and then Jharkot (3500 m), an amazing village-like fortress. We’re going to proceed to the first portion of Muktinath referred as Ranipauwa, where we’re going to stay the night. There will be moment to discover the region and see some of the blessed Hindu locations as an eternal flame that comes from natural gas next to a spring that is also deemed sacred. Guesthouse overnight, including breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 11 - Trek to Jomsom (2600m)

Duration of the trek to Jomsom (2600 m): 5 hours. Guesthouse overnight, including breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 12 - Morning flight to Pokhara,

Twenty-minute morning flight to Pokhara. Overnight stay at the hotel, including breakfast.

Day 13 - Pokhara to Kathmandu

Take a drive back to Kathmandu which takes 6-7 hours. Overnight at hotel, breakfast included.

Day 14 - Farewell

A representative from our company will see you off at the airport about 3 hours before the scheduled flight.
