About Langtang valley Trek

One of the most beautiful river valleys in Nepal is the Langtang Valley. As such, you can experience the natural beauty and the Himalayan scenery of the famous Langtang National Park through the Langtang Valley Trek. One of the attractions of the trip is the natural terrain of the valley. The valley is surrounded by colosal mountain peaks overlooking the rocky floor of the valley. This trip also includes a variety of natural flora and fauna. In addition, Langtang is known also as the “glacier valley.”

Approximately 20 miles north of the Kathmandu Valley the Langtang Valley Trek draws you. Due to this, it is also easier to access the trekking path. A trip through the mountains is a quick and easy escape. The skyline is decorated by rivers and rivers, huge pastures, and snowy mountain peaks. The panorama of the Langtang mountains also boosts the trekking experience. Similarly, trekking in the Langtang Valley is a fantastic way to embrace the region’s Rai and Limbu culture.

Best features of the Trek

There are several highlights to the Langtang Valley Trek, one of which is the glaciers from which the valley has its own name. A trek includes walking along many glacial lakes. Furthermore, Gosainkunda and Bhairav Kunda are well-known glacial lakes of the valley. The mountains are quite exciting to see in the saphir waters.

The Langtang National Park is also an important highlight of the trekking tour. Many endangered animal species inhabit there. You will probably find animals like the Himalayan Thar and the Red Panda as you trek. Not only that, there are also abundant oak, maple and rhododendron trees in the National Park. The valley terrain also includes rocky gorges and gushing rivers. Also during the entire trip, you can appreciate the views of the Langtang mountains. The Langtang Lirung valley, the Ganesh Himal, the Kyanjin RI and the Tsergo RI, among other sights are wonderful.

Trek Difficulty Level

The Trek Langtang Valley is a comparatively simple trip. No prior trekking experience is required. Mostly on flat surfaces, the trekking takes place along roads up and down. Sometimes the terrain turns rocky, but when it comes to trekking in Langtang, there is hardly any difficulty.

DAY 01: ARRIVE KATHMANDU, NEPAL

One of our representative will be there at the airport to welcome and pick you up. The he/she will escort you to the hotel in Kathmandu where you will be briefed about the trek. Stay overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02 - Drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Bensi (1462m/4795ft) Duration: 7 hrs

 Langtang Valley Trek begins from Kathmandu with a drive to Syabru Bensi. It’s nearly half a day journey by bus. From Kathmandu on the north exit, the bus is crossing the serpentine highway next to the river Trishuli. The bus takes you to Dhunche where you see the Ganesh Himal over the hills of the green vegetation. Throughout Dhunche, the highway gets bumpy up to Syabru Bensi. When you reach Syabru Bensi, the terrain imposed by the snowy mountains and the peaks  at the ridge line will be changing rapidly. You will have ample time to look at the scenery ahead.

Day 03 - Syabru Bensi to Lama Hotel (2500m/8200ft) Duration: 5 hrs

Syabru Bensi is the Langtang Valley Trek’s trail-head. After breakfast from here you will begin your journey. You pass through the Bhote Koshi River and the Langtang Khola for the first segment of the path, all crossing via suspension bridges. The path gradually ascends across the Langtang Khola to Bamboo (1960 m), passing the Landslide area. A mild climb will bring you from Bamboo on the banks of Langtang Khola to Ramche (2400 m). By lunchtime, you’re likely going to reach Ramche.

From Dhunche, the path gets forested and waterfalls cascaded. You’re more likely to see Red Pandas and Rhesus Monkeys. The forests that are interrogated clear you in Gumanechok, on the hillside. Standing on a steep hill, Lama Hotel will fire to serve you.

Day 04 - Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3307m/10845ft) Duration: 5 hrs

From Lama Hotel, a steep uphill path above the Langtang Khola is mapped out. You can see a stunning view of the Langtang Lirung as you walk along this steep slope (7,227 m). The path is steeper up to 3000 meters above sea level, reaching the green wilderness Ghoda Tabela. ‘ Ghoda ‘ is a horse and ‘ Tabela ‘ is a stable. This farm is used to transport products in the hills for horses and donkeys.

The path will open into a lush pasture as you walk through the designated lodges and a check point. A homelike sight of grazing Yaks can be seen here. You will pass a stream further away and reach the village of Langtang at 3,500 metres. The town of Langtang is a modest and comfortable settlement in the Himalayas.

Day 05 - Langtang village to Kyanjing Ri (4773m/15655ft) and back to Kyanjing Gompa (3798m/12495ft) Duration: 7-8 hrs

You climb up towards Sindum and then towards Yamphu (3,740 meters) after a heavy  breakfast in the village of Langtang. There will be a lot of bridge crossings in this portion of the trek. The Laja Khola is the most epic. This river is an glacial ice bulk meltdown. After passing the Laja Khola, you will climb up a moraine you will see a spectacular ice fall from the Langtang Lirung and the Kyanjin Gompa. On the same day, at 4,773 meters, you will walk toward Kyanjin RI. Take the moment of break before you take a walk down to the town where you will have wonderful views of the surrounding mountains.

Day 06 - Kyangjuma Gompa Exploration and climb Chorkari Ri (5050m/16564ft) Duration: 7 hrs

This is a day of relaxation to visit the Kyanjin Gompa. You can walk to the monastery and visit a cheese factory. Yak cheese, a milky delicacy, is made by the factory. The remaining of the day, the greatest altitude in this trek, will lead you up to Chorkari RI at 5,050 meters.  Chorkari RI provides an excellent view of the Langtang mountain. You will travel to the village for the night after experiencing the best of the Langtang Valley Trek.

Day 07 - Kyanjin Gompa- Lama Hotel (2500m/8200ft) Duration: 5-6 hrs

How simple the downhill path gets will surprise you today. After all, in a single day, the distance you climbed up will be down. Don’t forget about stopping on the trail through Langtang Village. This place will feel like home already. Irrespective of the simple path, take slow steps because the slope is steep.

Day 08 - Lama Hotel to Syabru Bensi (1462m/4795ft) Duration: 5-6 hrs

The trek from Lama Hotel to Syabru Bensi is simple. Take a sedated pace and keep looking back from time to time. The memories of the trek down are always going to deter you from moving fast!

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included. Overnight stay at the guesthouse.

Day 09 - Drive from Syabru Bensi to Kathmandu by Bus

You will take a bus trip back to Kathmandu from Syabru Bensi, the hill stationed village with all the beautiful memories of Langtang carried with you.

Day 10 - Departure/Farewell

Your Langtang Valley Trek has been a successful and we are positive that it was worth it for you. Our company representative will take you to the airport from your hotel approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. Hope we get to see you again and you are pleased with our services.
